There are many good reasons to upgrade the electrical infrastructure for your property or building. For one, many of the electrical infrastructure of buildings in the SF Bay Area are antiquated. Many of these buildings are equipped with Zinsco or Sylvania sub-panel boxes which are outdated and can even be a fire hazard. Although these panels are legal and grandfathered into the code, they need to be replaced as soon as practically possible.
Secondly, you should be aware of the big go-green changes that are coming in the State of California. In a sweeping de-carbonization effort, California's Clean Air Resources Board (CARB) has approved the proposal to ban gas heaters and furnaces in the state by 2030. In addition, CARB regulators have voted to ban the sale of gasoline powered vehicles in the state by 2035. So what does this mean for you? As property managers and owners, it is prudent to take steps now to upgrade your electrical infrastructure to support the electrical appliances that will replace the gas powered machines at your property. It is also beneficial to replace gas heaters and furnaces with electrical appliances based on heat pump technology as soon as possible to enjoy clean air, lower energy bills and a safer home.
As an early adopter, you will benefit from a variety of grants and rebates given out by the state and utility companies as incentives to get you off gas powered machines. So there has never been a better time than now to convert to electric. Some of the available rebates available locally at the South Bay Area. We can help you find the right grants for you and maximize the grant amount.
